Beacon Tax was started in 2023 to provide North Carolina businesses with high quality and affordable individual (1040) tax services. While studying Accounting at the UNC Chapel Hill Masters of Accounting program (MAC), Thomas began providing tax services to gain the experience needed while pursuing a CPA license. Facing a high level of demand for tax services, Beacon Tax was founded to support business growth.

While most clients have W-2 and investment account income, others have come to Beacon for support after selling a property or for help with their side business taxes.
